How is Vectra different from Scotchgard? Both protect, but Vectra penetrates the molecules of the fibers and seals them from within. It retains its effectiveness through several cleanings. Scotchgard is a topical or surface coating and needs to be reapplied after each cleaning.

Will Vectra prevent normal soiling? No product prevents soiling, but, your fabrics are protected against permanent stains from grease, wine, water, even pet stains.
